The Social
Piccadilly Records Say;
Rejekts : Es Kubells
Es Kubells
Rejektion
Es Kubells (Argy Remix)
"Es Kubells" is the first release on Manchester's Rejekt records, which has emerged from the illicit underground rave nights that go under the same name. What you get is a suitably wonky underground tech bomb, with a solid kick, weirded out vocals and minimal bleeps all sounding very warehouse circa '91, which is no bad thing. On side-B "Rejektion" is a nagging bleepfest with a nice groove and more weirdo voices in the mix. Last up "Es Kubells" gets remixed by Argy into a slightly more techno affair, stuttered snare drums heavy bottom end and nice fuzzy synth lines, pretty damn good, expect good things from Rejekt.

EL DIABLO & REJEKTS
SATURDAY 1ST DECEMBER 2007
EL DIABLO'S SOCIAL CLUB
MOHO LIVE
TIB ST
MANCHESTER
MAIN ROOM:
REVERSO 68
NEIL DIABLO
DANNY WEBB
BACKROOM:
REJEKTS
11pm - 5am
With a record buying pedigree par excellence, Phil Mison and Pete Herbert have honed the Reverso 68 sound for the beach, the bar and most definitely the dancefloor. Taking in everything we like best about all that is Disco, House, Balearic and Kosmiche and reflecting this diversity in their DJ sets and Productions on upfront labels such as Eskimo, they always take care of business. As a duo they first came to our attention with the release of "Piece Together" which they followed up with the dancefloor belters "Especial" and Tokyo Disco" as well as remixes for Manhead, Bent and The Juan Maclean. Whilst individually, they need no further introductions.(The Del Mar, Frontera, Bakazou L.S.B. etc) We are double excited to welcome the chaps to christen our new home at MoHo Live.
Joining them on the bill is Iain Taylor's Rejekts collective. Doyens of this Summer's Underground Warehouse scene in Manchester and renowned party animals, they'll be taking over Room 2 for the whole night and "tech"ing no shit. With the first release on their eponymously named label, "Es Kubells" rightfully taking the plaudits (Piccadilly Records Techno release of the week) and productions on Claude Von Stroke's Dirtybird imprint we're proud to welcome them over to showcase the Rejekt vibe and sound at El Diablos for the first time.
As ever, DJ support comes from our most excellent residents, Neil Diablo and Danny Webb.

yeah baby
Everything moves. And everything moves to a rhythm. And everything that moves produces a sound; that is happening here and all over the world at this very moment. Our ancestors noticed the same thing when they tried to escape from the cold in their caves: things moved and made noise.
The first human beings perhaps looked on this with awe, and then with devotion: they understood that this was the way that a Superior Being communicated with them. They began to imitate the noises and movements around them, hoping to communicate with this Being: and dancing and music were born.

Atomic Hooligan - from the album "sex, drugs & blah blah blah"
Atomic Hooligan - Weed
Atomic Hooligan - Papercuts
DJ mag - 4/5 Perfectly placed to bridge the dance/rock divide, in fact. Bring on the Hooligan noise!
Mixmag - That really is an epic masterpiece and very inspiring
One week to live - Like hearing the prodigy's poison for the very first time
EQ Mag - Holycrap, this is big!
Update mag online 4/5 a breath of fresh air, a remedy to many a hastilychurned out release from other artists.
French breaks - it's reminds me of the Chemical Brothers when they're in great shape.
Big room action - very essential...
